St. Cyril : About the Parish

About the Parish

St. Cyril of Alexandria Roman Catholic Parish serves the greater Brighton Heights area as well as surrounding neighborhoods.

More than 86 years ago, in 1924, 131 community members came together to build a church that would bring the Roman Catholic tradition to their neighborhood. With a foundation steeped in community commitment to faith, desire to worship Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and a hope for spiritual progress, St. Cyril’s Parish was created.  As a young church, parishioners quickly determined that a Parish School was their next goal, and created St. Cyril of Alexandria School in 1930.  St. Cyril of Alexandria Parish has grown to presently include more than 1,730 members.  Parishioners and neighborhood residents participate in a wide variety of activities and programs through the church, many of which involve the pre-school through grade eight Northside Catholic School.

Our Mission

Members of Saint Cyril of Alexandria Parish, a Catholic community of faith serving Brighton Heights, strive to live Christ-centered lives through worship, partaking of the sacraments, and serving those in need.

Our parish family welcomes and accepts without judgment all those who wish to join us.  We will serve and motivate each other so that we continue to grow in our Catholic faith.

Together we will nurture our faith, hope and love of God, our parish, and our neighbors, here and throughout the world.
